The ministry was birthed out of a Divine Mandate given to its founder, Apostle Carolyn J. Sims. Before the Lord called Apostle Sims to the pastoral, she relocated from Long Branch, Texas to Palm Springs, California, January 15, 1985. She united with Fountain of Life Temple, (C.O.G.I.C) Church of God in Christ, Banning, California, Superintendent Carlton Anderson, Pastor.
In the summer of 1986 in San Bernardino, California, she experienced an unusual visitation by a Spiritual Messenger (an Angel). “For some have entertained angels unaware” Hebrews 13:2. She was asked a direct question in the presence of her pastor very softly, “Are you a missionary?” She paused because of fear, but knowing in her heart there was a call on her life. Her pastor readily spoke and said, “OH YES! She is a fine missionary.” The messenger proceeded to tell me in that same soft voice. . “But you have been wounded and hurt, but you, daughter, will be a great blessing to many hurting women.” God said, “Because you are a “FIRE BUILDER." Tears filled my eyes for joy. The salutation given rested deep in my heart. Instantly, I understood the revelation. . . “FIRE BUILDER”
In 1991, in Desert Hot Springs, California, during a church service, a Hispanic minister, Pastor Chavez, gave Apostle Sims and her husband a Prophetic Word: “You are going in a eastward direction and you will be blessed.” On January 10, 1992, Apostle Sims and husband relocated to East Texas Long Branch, Panola County.
July 28th–30th, 1999, Carthage, Texas, The First Women’s Fellowship Convention was born; THE DAUGHTERS OF SARAH FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY. The Theme was P.U.S.H. - Pray Until Something Happens. Mayor Carson Jones of Carthage Texas presented Pastor Sims a key to the city and also issued a proclamation in honor of the first-time convention in Carthage, Texas. Several men were in attendance. Shortly thereafter, the name was changed to:
THE SONS OF ABRAHAM AND THE DAUGHTERS OF SARAH FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY.
HISTORY
Apostle Sims received her calling at the age of 21 years old. She was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Pastor Elton Poulard, New Mission C.O.G.I.C., San Francisco, California.
She has completed more than 43 years of full time Ministry, including: overseeing the growth of five other ministries, running revivals, and conducting life-changing conferences across the country. Apostle Sims has the vision to change the attitude of people by showing the love of God.
She has a genuine concern for the spiritual development of the lost, confused, and hurting souls (and women in particular). Apostle Sims truly understands the struggles of life, the pain of abuse, low self-esteem, and feeling half dead. “I BEEN THERE!” She willingly gives of herself to others for their benefit.
Prior to pastoring, she was ordained and received her Minister’s License from her Pastor, Bishop C. B. Simmons of Indio, California. Also, Bishop, Earnest Ray Starling of Henderson, Texas ordained her. She conducted revivals, workshops and seminars in the state of California, Arizona, Pontiac and Detroit, Michigan and Texas.
Apostle Sims was saved and baptized with the Holy Ghost at the age of 21 (1971). She has served in various departments: Sunday school, teacher for the primary, and Chairlady for Y.P.W.W. — Young People Willing Workers.
